Raj Kapoor directs this drama that explores true beauty, when Ranjeev (Shashi Kapoor) has second thoughts about marrying Rupa (Zeenat Aman) after discovering her face is disfigured. With one side of her face terribly burned after an accident, Rupa lives the life of an outcast until one day, Shashi hears her exquisite singing and asks her father permission to marry her -- but only before he sees what's under her veil. Can he get past her looks?
