To everyone in his social circle, Sir Percy Blakeney (Anthony Andrews) is a hopeless fop, surrounded by adoring ladies and clueless gentry. But he's also a master of disguise and harbors a secret identity -- the Scarlet Pimpernel, a fearless champion of downtrodden victims of the French Revolution. When he's not swashbuckling, Sir Percy woos the beautiful Marguerite (Jane Seymour), to the chagrin of the villainous Paul Chauvelin (Ian McKellen).
