In this gritty drama, teenage mother Ruby Star (Jennifer Mayo) -- faced with the overwhelming responsibility of caring for her baby on her own -- strikes out as a two-bit prostitute, selling her body to keep herself and her child alive. As Ruby learns the ways of the streets, she finds a support system -- and a makeshift surrogate family -- in a veteran hooker (Jackie Berryman) and a pimp with a heart of gold (David Dean).
