Nikolaus Harnoncourt conducts the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and the Arnold Schoenberg Choir in this landmark 1997 production of Franz Schubert's opera about two lovers whose fathers are sworn enemies. Endrik Wottrich stars as Alfonso, son of the deposed king of León, and Luba Orgonasova is Estrella, Alfonso's beloved and the daughter of the usurper Mauregato. Olaf Bär, Alfred Muff and Thomas Hampson co-star.
