It's "King Lear" Indian style when prodigal daughter Heere (Parminder Nagra) tries desperately to carve out a life for herself away from the grasping tentacles of her family. Her Anglo fiance (Danny Dyer) doesn't pass muster with Heere's disapproving father (Om Puri), owner of a curry factory. Meanwhile, Heere's older sisters, Rina (Amita Dhiri) and Pria (Rita Wolf), wait impatiently for the day their father dies so they can sell the business.
