Unorthodox preschool teacher Roberto (Roberto Benigni) brings his playful and unique variety of creative mayhem to the classroom in this rare family film from director Marco Ferreri. Roberto's methods beguile his young charges but arouse concern among conventionally minded parents and school administrators. Things turn serious when he impregnates the mother (Dominique Laffin) of one of his students and disavows himself of responsibility.
