Professional football players Billy Puckett (Burt Reynolds) and Marvin "Shake" Tiller (Kris Kristofferson) are good ol' boys and best friends on and off the field. They enjoy nothing more than a little competition, especially when it comes to the team owner's daughter, Barbara Jane (Jill Clayburgh). But their problems are no match for a little group therapy in this quirky comedy based on Dan Jenkins's novel.
