After a classmate commits suicide, 13-year-old Lain discovers how connected the two realms are when she receives an email from the dead girl. Has the line between the real world and the wired world blurred? This anime series takes on themes of reality and identity with a philisophical approach, referencing Timothy Leary, Jung and Proust.
