Ernest Shackleton (Kenneth Branagh) was one of 20th century's greatest explorers. Bound for Antarctica in 1915, Shackleton's ship, the Endurance, became trapped in the Weddell Sea ice pack. The ship sank, stranding Shackleton and his crew in hostile environments. Based on diaries and first-person accounts of expedition members, this film recounts their ordeal.
