When an 11-year-old rises to power as Japan's fourth shogun, his chief adviser enlists the Hattori clan of Iga ninjas (led by martial arts icon Sonny Chiba) to protect the young ruler from the myriad forces conspiring against him. An impressive roster of alumni from Chiba's stunt school -- including Etsuko Shihomi, Hiroyuki Sanada and Kenji Ohba -- star in the first season of this epic television series set in the 17th century.
