Shadow of the Thin Man

Retired husband-and-wife detectives Nick (William Powell) and Nora Charles (Myrna Loy) find themselves back in the sleuthing game when a jockey -- who had been accused of throwing a race -- is shot dead in his locker room at the local track. As they uncover ties to illegal gambling and corruption, the crime-solving couple must weed through a rogues' gallery of suspects that includes a pair of high rollers and a small-time tout.
