Nandini and Shekhar meet and fall in love in Los Angeles. They have a child, and all is blissful until Shekhar learns of a conflict in India that may involve his family. They fly to India with their son and are quickly engulfed in a violent family feud perpetuated by Shekhar's father. When Shekhar is killed, Nandini wants to leave the country, but her father-in-law insists on keeping her 3-year-old son. Will she and her son ever reach safety?
