Having been framed for theft by her wretched landlord (Harvey Clark) and now fresh out of jail, struggling artist Marcia Grey (Gloria Swanson) commits herself to charity work, and soon she meets and marries a wealthy philanthropist (Joe King). But when the vile landlord -- who is a German spy -- blackmails her, she must decide whether to help the Hun or risk her husband learning the truth about her past. Albert Parker directs this silent film.
