In this wildly farcical film, Zach (John Ritter) is an unemployed writer whose life is spiraling out of control. He suffers from writer's block, drinks too much and is an obsessive womanizer; what's more, his house has just burned down, and his wife wants a divorce. Eventually, Zach turns to fatherly bartender Barney (Vince Gardenia) and a psychiatrist (Michael Kidd), who help Zach regain control of his life.
