A gang war is brewing on the streets of the Japanese town of Kabukicho three days before the Chinese New Year. Caught in the middle is Kenichi Ryuu (Takeshi Kaneshiro), a half-Chinese, half-Japanese loner who makes a living trafficking in stolen goods. As Kenichi reluctantly carries out the instructions of Shanghai crime boss Yuan Chenggui (Eric Tsang) to track down his scheming partner, a romance blossoms with a femme fatale (Mirai Yamamoto).
