Hillbillies invade Washington, D.C., in this installment of the film series based on the popular "Lum and Abner" radio show. Convinced they've invented a licorice-flavored synthetic rubber that'll help the allies win World War II, Lum Edwards (Chester Lauck) and Abner Peabody (Norris Goff) leave the homey comforts of Pine Ridge, Ark., for the nation's capital, set up shop on a park bench and become sage political advisors. Alan Mowbray costars.
