When single mom Mary Fermoyle (Sissy Spacek) rents a room to a mysterious new man in town, Omar Duvall (Beau Bridges), to help support her family, she soon begins to have romantic feelings for the secretive but charming boarder. But as their relationship blossoms, Mary begins to suspect that the stranger under her roof may be harboring a dangerous secret. Rod Holcomb directs this drama that also stars Keir Dullea, Angelica Torn and Tom Guiry.
