Once a champion race-car driver, embittered Ludvik (Peter Musevski) now makes his living transporting illegal immigrants across the border from Croatia to Italy. His new accomplice, Rudi (Aljosa Kovacic), is initially shocked at the vulnerable passengers' brutal treatment. But when Ludvik becomes ill and Rudi takes over much of the business, he slowly sheds his pangs of conscience -- until an African family tragically dies in transit.
