Michael J. Fox is New York City's deputy mayor Mike Flaherty, the tireless right-hand man to clueless Randall Winston (Barry Bostwick), in the debut season of the sophisticated ABC sitcom. The oddball mayoral staff includes neurotic press secretary Paul (Richard Kind), womanizing assistant deputy mayor Stuart (Alan Ruck) and gay minority affairs chief Carter (Michael Boatman). Carla Gugino co-stars as Mike's reporter girlfriend, Ashley.
