Set prior to the events depicted in the original 1960s program, this series follows Capt. Archer (Scott Bakula) and the crew of the Enterprise as they explore space and discover the technology taken for granted in previous Star Trek installments. As they expand the limits of human innovation and encounter new alien races, the officers also contend with the supervision of the more advanced Vulcans, who keep a keen eye on humanity's progress.
