"Stargate SG-1" co-star Amanda Tapping joins the "Stargate Atlantis" cast this season as Col. Samantha Carter, bringing her much-needed scientific knowledge and military chops to the mission's base station. Also joining the crew in its exploration of the lost civilization of Atlantis and the parallel galaxy of Pegasus is chief medical officer Dr. Keller (Jewel Straite). Together, they face a grim future as the damaged city drifts in space.
