Flinty Sheriff Clayton (Lee Van Cleef) must surrender his badge after he refuses to arrest Philipp Wermeer (Alberto Dentice), a young man framed for murder by the evil Saxon brothers. Together, Clayton and Wermeer plan a journey to Jefferson to confront the villains. There they learn a surprising truth in this gripping spaghetti Western directed by Sergio Leone protégé Giancarlo Santi. The film's title score was later used in Kill Bill Vol. 1.
