Strauss: Arabella

Dutiful 17th-century Viennese daughter Arabella (performed by soprano Gundula Janowitz) searches for a rich husband who will save her family from financial ruin in Strauss's comedic opera. Sir Georg Solti conducts the Vienna Philharmonic. Performing the role of Arabella's love interest, Mandryka, is baritone Bernd Weikl. Edita Gruberova, René Kollo, Sona Ghazarian and Hans Kraemmer Waldner round out this performance.
