Overworked air-traffic controller Jack Chester (John Candy) is good at his job, until he mistakes a fly on his radar screen for a low-flying plane. His boss prescribes a vacation, but once he and his family arrive, Jack's dreams of a relaxing getaway soon fade. From an oceanfront cottage that's steps from being condemned to a nasty accident that lands Jack on crutches, his turbulent Florida vacation is a summer he'd rather forget.
