When her cheating husband dies in an accident, childless widow Gayetri (Waheeda Rehman) tricks her husband's pregnant lover into giving up her baby, then raises the child, Sunny (Sunny Deol), as her own son. Years later, when Sunny wants to marry a singer he loves, Gayetri refuses to approve, thus setting mother and son on the road to a calamitous meeting with the girl's parents. Raj Khosla directs this drama that also stars Sharmila Tagore.
