Part of French New Wave director Eric Rohmer's Six Moral Tales cycle -- which examines the limits of sexual and emotional fidelity -- this second film in the series explores the complex bonds of youthful friendship and romance. Timid Bertrand (Philippe Beuzen) envies his lady-killer college pal Guillaume (Christian Charrière), but when both men fall for free-spirited Suzanne (Catherine Sée), will loyalty or desire win out?
