Shell-shocked veteran Johnny (Johnny Weissmuller) returns home to the bayou, where spoiled rich girl Janet (Virginia Grey) seduces him away from his sweetheart, Toni (Carol Thurston). Meanwhile, resentful trapper Mike (Buster Crabbe) blames Johnny for a hunting ban and tries to ruin his life. Both Olympic gold medalists, Weissmuller and Crabbe followed up their successful swimming careers by playing Tarzan in Hollywood movies.
