Living contentedly in Madhopur, the Choudhury clan -- Laxmi (Jayapradha), her husband (Jeetendra) and his brother, Ravi (Mithun Chakraborty) -- see their lives change when Ravi marries Lalita (Padmini Kolhapure), whose family is at odds with the Choudhurys. Though the newlyweds overcome the obstacles to their union, trouble arises when Laxmi and Lalita both get pregnant … but only one delivers a healthy baby. Will tragedy rip the family apart?
