Looking to better their lives, friends Emma (Johanna ter Steege) and Böbe (Enikö Börcsök) leave the Hungarian countryside behind and head for Budapest, where they land jobs as schoolteachers but soon discover that life in the city isn't easy in the post-communist era. As they share quarters in a boarding house, disconcerting revelations put the women's relationship to the test in this sensitive drama helmed by Oscar-winning director István Szabó.
