Although he's only been out of prison for a few days, silver-tongued con man Harry Reynolds (Bryan Brown) is already working on his next big moneymaking scam -- tricking people into investing in the phony excavation of sunken pirate ship. But when he finds himself falling for a charming young widow (Karen Allen), Harry begins to develop what no con artist can afford to have … a conscience.
