Devoted manservant Oishi (Kinnosuke Yorozuya) assembles a group of warriors and begins to plan an intricate reprisal after his master commits hara-kiri at the behest of the emperor. With the lines of allegiance and betrayal sharply drawn, the stage is set for a fiery clash in this potent samurai saga directed by Kinji Fukasaku. The cast includes Toshirô Mifune and Sonny Chiba (who choreographed the swordplay sequences).
