Tales from the Crypt: From Comic Books to Television

  (2005)
When "Tales from the Crypt" debuted in the late 1940s, kids were crazy for the Crypt Keeper and his horror stories. Parents were not, and the by the 1950s, there was a backlash that went all the way to the U. S. Senate. The comic book industry agreed to police itself and closed the coffin on the Crypt Keeper and all horror comics at that time. This fascinating documentary tells the story of the magazines and their pop-culture comeback.
