Director Robert Altman and cartoonist Garry B. Trudeau combine talents for this groundbreaking HBO mockumentary miniseries about the 1988 presidential race, in which fictional candidate and all-around nice guy Jack Tanner (Michael Murphy) runs for office. Tanner doesn't have the instincts of his fellow democratic candidates, but he forges ahead with help from his campaign manager (Pamela Reed), aide (Daniel Jenkins) and daughter (Cynthia Nixon).
