In this drama based on a short story by renowned Polish writer Jaroslaw Iwaszkiewicz, middle-aged housewife Marta (Krystyna Janda) takes refuge from loneliness in the comfort of the much younger Bogus (Pawel Szajda). But a tragic accident soon shatters her world. Set against this heartfelt drama, actress Janda tells her own personal story of loss as director Andrzej Wajda juxtaposes fiction and real life. Jan Englert co-stars.
