Renowned baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky stars as the title character in this critically acclaimed production of Tchaikovsky's renowned opera, filmed live in 2007 at the Metropolitan Opera in front of a sold-out crowd. Other cast members include Renee Fleming, Elena Zaremba, Ramón Vargas and Sergei Aleksashkin. Legendary Russian conductor Valery Gergiev leads the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and Chorus.
