The Kirov Orchestra, Opera Chorus and Ballet present Tchaikovsky's acclaimed masterpiece, a story of forbidden love in 18th-century Russia. Gegam Grigorian is Hermann, the destitute tragic figure who longs for Liza (Maria Gulegina), who is promised to a prince. All the while, the spectral figure of Liza's grandmother watches over the proceedings. This 1992 production was performed at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg.
