Hard-nosed newspaperman Jim Gannon (the ever-dapper Clark Gable) cleverly pretends to be a night school student to woo beautiful journalism teacher Erica Stone (Doris Day) in this classic romantic comedy directed by George Seaton. Forced by his editor to do a story on journalism courses, Gannon assumes a new name, attends a lecture and is taken with the lovely Erica. After falling for her, he has to get her fiancé (Gig Young) out of the picture.
