Slacker rock band the Handy Kaufmans have one last chance to prove themselves in this indie dramedy. Embarking on a tour in 1994, they resolve to hit the big time -- or resign themselves to the drudgery of day jobs. Faced with frustrated parents (Mark Hamill and Sally Kirkland) trying to push him out of the nest, drummer Lee (Christian Campbell) sees his fortunes change when beautiful replacement bassist Trixie (Lara Boyd Rhodes) joins the band.
