This documentary examines African-American films from the 1920s through the 1950s with a particular focus on the film Jericho (1937), starring Paul Robeson as a black corporal who is sentenced to die but escapes to Morocco and becomes a physician. Narrated by actor Mario Van Peebles, this program is part of the series "That's Black Entertainment," which includes interviews and classic footage from movies of the period.
