The Big Sleep

As private detective Philip Marlowe (Robert Mitchum) begins his investigation of a blackmail case, he finds himself tangled in a web of mystery and criminal activity. His wealthy employer is the elderly Gen. Sternwood (James Stewart), whose daughters (Candy Clark and Sarah Miles) are involved with some shady characters. Soon, everyone becomes a suspect. This remake of the 1946 Humphrey Bogart classic takes place in 1970s London.
