John Wayne rides tall in this 1930 Raoul Walsh-directed Western, one of the earliest to showcase the sophisticated technology of cinematic sound. Charting the progress of a band of courageous pioneers headed for Oregon, the film depicts the hardships, challenges and dangers they face in search of a place to call home. Wayne makes his first starring appearance alongside Marguerite Churchill, David Rollins and Tyrone Power.
