Planning to elope with a bandleader (Jack Carson) she's known only four days, oil heiress Joan Winfield (Bette Davis) hires pilot Steve Collins (James Cagney) to fly them to Nevada. But Joan's father makes Steve a better offer to bring her home unmarried. All bets are off, however, when they're forced to make an emergency landing in the desert in this screwball comedy also starring George Tobias and William Frawley.
