Even though Ireland remained neutral during World War II, the government promised Allied and Axis forces that any soldiers captured within its borders would remain there until the war's end. When Canadian pilot Miles Keogh (Bill Campbell) and German pilot Count Rudolph Von Stegenbek (Angus MacFadyen) fall to Irish soil, they also fall for the same woman (Jean Butler), who wants nothing to do with the enemies -- or their war.
