Tan Dun (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) conducts this Metropolitan Opera staging of his own work, while Chinese filmmaker Zhang Yimou (Hero, Raise the Red Lantern) directs. The production's all-star cast includes world-renowned tenor Placido Domingo, who turns in a passionate performance as First Emperor Qin Shi Huang -- the dynamic ruler who unified China and started construction on the now-iconic Great Wall.
