This Cold War tale of intrigue stars Campbell Scott as telecommunications engineer Leonard Markham, who has just been assigned to Berlin, Germany, to work with veteran spy Bob Glass (Anthony Hopkins) -- an obsessively paranoid man. Bob cautions Leonard to trust no one, not even the alluring Maria (Isabella Rossellini), with whom he has quickly and deeply grown enamored. Leonard, however, is certain Maria's intentions are pure ... but are they?
