When her father is killed by a group of Bolsheviks -- including her lover, Andreas (Uno Henning) -- Jeanne Ney (Édith Jéhanne) returns to Paris and goes to work for her uncle's detective agency, where she's drawn into a plot involving murder and missing diamonds. But when Andreas turns up in France, Jeanne must decide where her loyalties lie. German filmmaker G.W. Pabst directs this silent drama, based on a story by Ilja Ehrenburg.
