The Nutty Professor

A 1990s spin on a classic, director Tom Shadyac's Oscar-nominated comedy follows portly professor Sherman Klump (Eddie Murphy, who plays seven characters in the film) as he bumbles through attempts at romance. Humiliated while trying to impress grad student Carla Purty (Jada Pinkett), Sherman takes a massive dose of his new weight-loss potion. Too bad the potion has bugs: The svelte Sherman proves to be an insufferable jerk.
