In this BBC drama, Pauline Collins stars as Harriet Smith, England's new ambassador to Ireland, who's taking over one of Britain's most coveted -- and potentially explosive -- embassy posts. Continually under fire, she must walk a perilous line between the aims of diplomatic saboteurs, the interests of Ireland's people, her family's demands and, perhaps most importantly, her duty to Britain. Denis Lawson plays the envoy's trusted assistant.
