Come sit a spell with the down-home folks of Mayberry, N.C.: Sheriff Andy Taylor (Andy Griffith), his son, Opie (Ron Howard), Aunt Bee (Frances Bavier), bug-eyed deputy Barney Fife (Don Knotts), mischievous Ernest T. Bass (Howard Morris) and all the rest of the town's endearing characters. George Lindsey joins the cast as Goober Pyle, replacing his cousin Gomer (Jim Nabors), who leaves for the Marines in the fourth season's finale.
