Richard Burton stars as fallen Communist leader Leon Trotsky in this 1972 drama from director Joseph Losey, which probes the mind of Frank Jackson (Alain Delon) -- the enigmatic assassin sent to kill the exiled Russian in 1940. Beginning with the raid on Trotsky's Mexican compound and ending with his death three months later, the film chronicles Jackson's infiltration into Trotsky's inner circle ... all for the express purpose of murder.
